Community Fun Day Success!

On Saturday the 11th of August, we were joined by some of our GB sporting stars for a spectacular day of community fun held at Sutcliffe Park Sports Centre in Eltham, London!

Over 100 children came along to experience a day of sport, bouncy castles, fun races and face painting. We had a wonderful time bringing together family and friends from the community in an effort to strengthen bonds, forge relationships and give some of our amazing athletes the chance to inspire the next generation.

So who joined us on the fun packed filled day?

Toby Olubi

Toby, GB Bobsleigh Olympian, represented Great Britain at the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics and makes up a quarter of the fastest recorded sled in history! Toby was fantastic at the event and made a great show for the kids, especially letting the kids win the races!

Souleyman Bah

Souleyman is a young visually impaired sprinter who aims to represent GB at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Souleyman is a huge part of our Inspired Through Sport family and we were thrilled that he joined us for the day as his smiling personality is always contagious!

Jack Gladman

Jack’s a Paralympic 1500m athlete who competes in the T38 class. He’s rapidly moving up the world rankings having finished 9th in the World Para-Athletic Championships in London last year. We were so pleased he managed to come along to our Community Day as he’s also a full-time student at Bucks New University, but he said he really wanted to support us and the community!

Our director Joe concludes ‘Our first ever sports event went down as a sweet success and we are looking forward to holding other events soon!’.
